The Massachusetts General Hospital for Children at the Lurie Center is conducting a Research Study for children 5–14 years old who have Pervasive Developmental Disorders (autism, Asperger’ disorder, or PDD-NOS). If your 5-14 year old has autism, Asperger’ disorder, or PDD-NOS, he or she may qualify for a research study involving study medication and clinic visits with a child psychiatrist and qualified research staff at no charge. The purpose of this study is to find out if the medication, extended release guanfacine, is helpful for the treatment of hyperactivity and impulsiveness in children.
