• Trial of Resistance and Endurance Exercise in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Research subjects for the ‘Trial of Resistance and Endurance Exercise in ALS’ are
currently being recruited at Massachusetts General Hospital. Sixty participants with
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) are being recruited for this pilot study and MGH
hopes to enroll fifteen. This pilot will help determine the safety and tolerability of
resistance and endurance training in people with ALS. A larger efficacy trial will be
planned should the results of the pilot study prove safe. Interested subjects should
contact the physical therapist and study coordinator, Amy Ellrodt, at (617) 724-0815 or
through e-mail at ALSWARTZ@partners.org.
