  • Intensive Exercise to Improve Mitochondrial Dysfunction in Pediatric Obesity
Overweight Children and Teens for Exercise Study
• 10-18 years old
You may be eligible for a research study to evaluate the effects of exercise on metabolism at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Study involves:
• Comprehensive evaluation at baseline and 8 weeks
• Possible 8 week exercise program at the state-of-the-art GoKids center or at home
Subjects receive a comprehensive evaluation and up to $540 in compensation

About Obesity:
Being obese increases the risk for many diseases, especially heart disease, stroke, cancer, and diabetes.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, obesity has reached epidemic proportions. It has a far-ranging negative effect on health. Persons who are overweight or obese are at increased risk for developing many different health conditions, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and bone and joint disease.
