- Translational Investigation of Depression in Pregnancy
Healthy adult females, who are planning pregnancy and between the ages of 25-35, are wanted for a brain imaging research study exploring brain metabolites such as fatty acids and sugar molecules. Subjects will come to the MGH main campus for a 3 hour screening session between 9am-5pm. If eligible for the study, participants will subsequently track their menstrual cycles for 3 months, and undergo a one hour brain scanning session at Charlestown MRI Imaging Center between 8am-6pm. Participants will agree to be followed up during pregnancy and 3 months postpartum, and will fill out monthly questionnaires about their mood and overall functioning during this time period. There is $100 monetary compensation provided to subjects for completion of this study.
