• Marcrolides In Asthma (MIA)
The Asthma Research Center at Brigham and Women's Hospital is recruiting asthmatics aged 18 and older who have had asthma for at least 6 months. The research study is 33 weeks long and involves 13 visits to the Asthma Research Center, and the compensation is up to $1,250. Study is designed to see the effect on asthma control with 16 weeks of an FDA approved antibiotic added to Fluticasone (an inhaled corticosteroid) in subjects with asthma both with and without chronic airway infection. All study medication will be provided. This study includes a bronchoscopy (an examination of the lungs with a thin and flexible tube) at visit 4.
