- fMRI Investigation of Mu Opioid Analgesia on Experimental Pain
If you have low back pain and pain down your leg, you may qualify for a research study examining how pain is processed in the brain, using an MRI scanner. The study involves 3 visits, and you will receive up to $250 for completion. You cannot be on opioid medication (such as morphine, percocet, or methadone). You must have a lumbar MRI confirming a cause of your low back pain. You have to be willing to have your pain temporarily aggravated while lying in the MRI machine. Volunteers must be between the ages 21-65. Please contact Li Chen, 617-732-9578, or lqchen@partners.org.
