• A physiological fMRI study of acupuncture and perceptions of pain in chronic low back pain patients
Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is looking for healthy volunteers aged 18-60 to participate in investigation of the effects of acupuncture on pain.

You will be given the choice to participate in a 2 session study or a 3 session study. You will be required to be in an MRI machine (from the waist up) so that the researchers can observe your brain’s response to pain during 1 MRI session. You will NOT take any drugs as part of this study. Taking part includes questionnaires and testing your sensitivity to pain. There is no cost to you and the study will provide compensation (up to $250). The study takes place at the MGH East, 149 13th Street, Charlestown, Massachusetts. There is a free shuttle to the research center from North Station and Mass General Hospital. Please contact Edward Kim for more information at 617-726-0324.
